SCI FI FILM FESTIVAL CAMPAIGN
project description
Sacramento Sci Fi Film Festival is an annual film festival that curates a weekend of throwback films as well as current Sci Fi films for everyone’s inner geek. The client was seeking a fresh design system that could be implemented for the type of collateral they were looking to produce for their science-fiction film festival. The promotional materials must include a poster, a schedule, a program, and a website.
behind the design
Inspired by the theme of Science Fiction, the design direction went towards more of the futuristic, space travel genre within the realm of Science Fiction. The narrative behind the illustrations was of a journey with a dimension traveler who was stepping into the futuristic space from the real world.
SF COMEDY COMPETITION MARKETING
project description
Through The Lab Agency, the client was asking for a marketing campaign for the Annual San Francisco Stand Up Comedy Competition at Sacramento State University. This project had a variety of deliverables required such as postcards, lobby posters, marquee banners, digital screen stills, A-frame poster, etc.
behind the design
Playing on the idea of laughter being a chemical reaction to comedy was the drive behind this project. Adding elements and words that related to the comedy show help drive that objective with a fun playful illustration style to communicate the intended audience for this event, which was teenagers and above.
SUBAQUEOUS PLAYING CARDS

Premise of the project was to make a system of playing cards that is a consistent theme and design throughout the deck of cards and card-box.

The aquatic life came strong when it came to inspiration. The visual hierarchy of Queen mermaids, King mermans, and the food chain with sea creatures helped communicate the progression playing cards have with the face cards and numeral cards.
THE GROTTO SHOW INTRO

Create a brand logo and animated television intro for a new television show. The logo should function for both print and broadcast applications; it should also evoke the essence of the shows concept
behind the design
Grotto is a mystical fantasy story line that is focusing on the young to middle-aged audience. The illustration style creates that dark grunge feel of the cave set, but has highlights of wonder and life within the color palette.
‘Grotto’ is a show about a boy FULL of imagination, who is on a vacation with his family. As he’s scoobadiving with his sister, they discover this grotto hidden under the water. This hidden grotto is where Brennan, the magical woodsmith, creates small wooden carvings of sea-creatures and with a flick of the wrist he brings them to life. The boy and the the girl start becoming his apprentice in this whole time, wanting to learn his ways in this type of magic.
A redesign on a popular novel Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling. The redesign included everything from the cover to the end pages, creating a layout and system of way-finding throughout the whole book
